Luisa Quaglia Tour Guide | About me
I help you read Tuscany,
not just look at it.
My name is Luisa Quaglia and I am a licensed tour guide, but I like to define myself above all as a historical and archaeological guide. I was born in Puglia, but I have been living for many years near Volterra, in an agriturismo that I run with my family, two constantly hungry cats, and one clumsy dog. I graduated in Archaeology in 2009 and, before becoming a guide, I worked in tourist hospitality, museum education, and the management of archaeological sites. Since 2019 I have been working as a tour guide in Tuscany, mainly in Volterra, Siena, museums, and archaeological sites.
My way of telling
the story of places
n my tours, I am not simply interested in showing you a square, a church, or a museum.
I want to help you understand why a place looks the way it does, who lived there, what transformations it has gone through, and what it can still tell us today.
That is why my tours have a mainly historical and archaeological focus: they start from monuments, objects, and stones, but they try to reconstruct the stories of the people and communities that created them.
History, archaeology, and cultural storytelling
Alongside my work as a guide, I also share cultural content online, where I talk about towns, villages, artifacts, monuments, historical figures, and details that there is often no time to explore properly during a tour.
My goal, both in person and online, is always the same: to make history clearer, closer, and easier to understand, without oversimplifying it.

Because the past
is still here
Because the past is not something dead, to be studied only in books.
It is still there: in the streets, in museums, in the stones of buildings, in the shape of cities.
You just need to learn how to read it.
And, in the end, that is what I do: I help you look more closely, because when history stops being just a date or a name, it can become something that stays with you.

Beautiful memories
